Tim Tam Ad
Keegan, Ella, Erin and Hannah made a persuasive ad for Tim Tams. Tell them what you thought.
Persuasive advertising.
We used the original sound track and made comments like "You can rely on Rebel Sport" to try and persuade the audience. How do you think we did?

What does this video tell you about space?
How many planets did you spot? Watch it again and see if you can name them?
Where do you think space travel will go?
Human kind has only been travelling into space since 12 April 1961. We are now talking about passenger rockets taking us into space. Where do you think we will be in 100 years?
Space is so interesting
Here are some interesting facts about space. What one did you find fascinating? Can you come up with your own fact about space?
1. 41% of the moon is not visible from earth at any time.
2. A 100-pound person on Earth would weigh 38 pounds on Mars.
3. A car traveling 100 mph would take more than 29 million years to reach the nearest star (to our solar system)
4. A comet's tail always points away from the sun.
5. A lightning bolt generates temperatures five times hotter than those found at the sun's surface!
6. All of the Earth's continents are wider at the north than in the south - and nobody knows why.
7. Any space vehicle must move at a rate of 7 miles per second in order to escape the earth's gravitational pull.
8. Approximately 115 tons of ocean salt spray enters the earth's atmosphere each second.
9. Astronauts cannot burp in space.
10. Astronauts get taller when they are in space.
11. If you went out into space, you would explode before you suffocated because there's no air pressure.
12. In space, astronauts cannot cry properly, because there is no gravity, so the tears can't flow down their faces!
13. It takes eight and a half minutes for light to get from the sun to earth.
14. Jupiter's moon Ganymede, is larger than the planet Mercury!
15. Lightning strikes about 6,000 times per minute on this planet!

17. Only 55% of Americans know that the sun is a star.
18. Saturn's rings are about 500,000 miles in circumference but only about a foot thick.
19. Some asteroids have other asteroids orbiting them.
20. The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust.
21. The Earth gets heavier each day by tons, as meteoric dust settles on it.
22. The earth is .02 degrees hotter during a full moon.
23. The earth rotates more slowly on its axis in March than in September.
24. The earth travels through space at 660,000 miles per hour.

Report Writing
We have been trying to grab the audiences attention. Angus wrote this example.
The sound of flapping wings zoomed above the treetops 245 million years ago, as the Triseratactle, the most deadly dinosaur ever, swoops down and attacks its prey.
Why do you think it is good?
Challenge:
Can you write a fantastic attention grabbing sentence. Room 11 will vote on the best comment posted and the winner will receive a chocolate bar of their choice.

Time flies when you are having fun!
Another week comes to an end. I was so proud of the way we came together and produced such an awesome Keynote presentation, even learning how to email attachments. It was great seeing the class getting into our basic facts this week, lots of improvement.
With blogs popping up everywhere and students keen to do their own, it is important to remember our discussions about net safety. Remember to involve a parent when you are using the internet and get them to check that you are not putting on personal details.
Next week is shaping up to be amazing!! You will be completing your dinosaur sketch. Writing a report on it as well as designing and starting your 3D model.
If you have spare newspapers please bring them in for next week, we will need them.
